I love, love, love classic custom clothing. April Marin rocks at providing quality custom dresses for women at at affordable prices(as low as $130) I can so see myself at a meeting with one of these fabulous looks. The bonus is that I know that the dress was made to fit perfectly. No more sagging in the middle or too tight fits around the bust and the bottom (I have a womanly shape
) and even better; they have an assortment of fabric and lining colors to choose from. I personally like the grey and pink combo or a classic navy with green; either way you choose your look you’ll definitely have plenty of fun putting it together.

SavvySocialite.com Family-
I have neglected this site for far to long and I am tired of it. It started back in Nov. when I got a promotion and I had mad work to do to promote the Afro-American Newspapers coverage of Obama and Clintons’ race for the DNC nomination and we had the only journalist representing African-American Newspapers on the campaign bus with Obama during the primaries (Hillary’s camp didn’t reach out) so that took long hours, press releases, marketing, etc. for them and honestly I just could lift another finger to type when I came home. Next came the job opportunity to work with Black America’s most influential voice in radio to work on the redesign and re-launch of his website but, they had a problem with me having my own site. So because I wanted the job I took down my post and got the gig. The problem was that I missed blogging and chatting with readers about things that interest us. I realized what was important to me and have decided to re-energize my site. I will be posting the stories that have been taken down along with new ones and really would like feedback on what you want from a good website that speaks to our unique voices. Post your comments or send me a holla at liz[at]savvysocialite.com.
Liz
P.S. Thanks mom for putting it in perspective and giving me a friendly reminder of why I started this site. Thanks Dee Dee for reminding me to keep it up that random morning (3am) we chatted (I love Google chat) what you have done with Clutch continues to inspire me.

First, Jill and now Janet is getting into the lingerie game. Might as well, she’s already seen what happens when you don’t wear proper undergarments (i.e. Nipplegate). Janet Jackson’s Pleasure Principle Lingerie will offer fourteen designs, and range in bust sizes from 32A to 44G (thank goodness, I hope they fit well too) with affordable prices nothing over $40. I am still looking for a link to the website but, there seems to be none (come on people you can’t launch anything with out the web!!!) I will update the post as soon as I find the link.

So the Emmy winning former super-model who I think is a great role model for women of color is finally embolized in wax. Madame Toussard’s did a fabulous job on this statue, even the lacefront looks like Tyra’s own. She’s soooo fabulous.

We all get this feeling sometimes.
Like you can’t exist without having something, therefore making everything in your existence all about getting exactly what you want. Every Savvy Socialite knows that every now and then you see something that you must have and will not stop until you can get it.  For me it was the Louis Vuitton Speedy in 2002;  2003 Dior shades worn by Jennifer Lopez (later stolen) and a simple black pair Manolo Blahniks; 2004 Balenciaga’s Motorcycle bag; 2005 Marc Jacobs Stam, Fendi’s Spy and a navy Armani suit that had a fit that was made for my body; 2006 Eiffel Tower high waist pants that I called to several stores in Italy to find ; and in 2007 Roberto Cavalli leopard print dress, 1B lace-front wig 18inches and a Nina Perrera croc clutch, finally an obsession that will not break the bank of Dad.
The IHDA nominee for best handmade handbags, has created a clutchÂ
that is totally versatile. IÂ swear it matches everything, whether its a pair jeans or a dress and who doesn’t want to punch up an outfit with a hot bag that makes a fabulous style statement. It also comes in some other fab colors and styles to match your personality, and did I mention that they are all leather? No PVC crap here.
With prices ranging from $250 to $600 this clutch is a steal.
Check out www.ninabags.com for more information about the designer and where you can find her bags.

So, we know diamonds are definitely our best friends (specifically conflict free FL, IF or VVS1) but, data?
Yep, apparently data is a girl’s best friend too, and it didn’t take a genius to realize that. I mean really; all women love bling, and most of us have USB drives that don’t match a thing in our closet, so why hasn’t anyone done something about this problem!
Well, Philips and Swarovski teamed up to deliver us a fabulous solution to a diva’s data dilemma, and gave USB drives a blingtastical upgrade. They creatively fused data and bling to create brilliantly functional USB drives that look like adorable pendants that can be worn as jewelry.
Each pendant contains 1 GB of data (about 250 songs or 1’000 photos), has password protection, high-speed USB 2.0 interface, and priced at just $178.
