WHY?????

Why do they continue to hate on Barack Obama. Yep, it’s the usual suspects; Tavis Smiley, Dr. Cornel West and Dr. Julianne Malveaux *sigh* can’t they see the bigger picture; we are free now tired of all the talking, we want action.

a friend in my head: Michelle Obama

a friend in my head: Michelle Obama

I am officially a Michelle Obama stan, just in case you didn’t know it ;-) .  She is the embodiment of what I strive to be everyday. She is just a real person who wants to uplift others; I dig that. Plus that dress was soooooo cute (www.mariapinto.com) I think that’s on my wish list for what I want to wear to the CBC.
I can’t wait until she is in the White House. Good thing I still Have my place in the D.C. !!!

Just in case you missed it ( WHICH YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE!!), I posted the video below. Obama ‘08

janet jackson’s pleasure principle lingerie

First, Jill and now Janet is getting into the lingerie game. Might as well, she’s already seen what happens when you don’t wear proper undergarments (i.e. Nipplegate).  Janet Jackson’s Pleasure Principle Lingerie will offer fourteen designs, and range in bust sizes from 32A to 44G (thank goodness, I hope they fit well too) with affordable prices nothing over $40. I am still looking for a link to the website but, there seems to be none (come on people you can’t launch anything with out the web!!!) I will update the post as soon as I find the link.

wtf?? issac hayes is dead too.

Wow I guess you don’t really know when you get called home. I need to start getting it together, after this drink. He apparently died while on the treadmill. I hope people don’t use this excuse as to why they can’t excersise. I can hear my father now.

Prayers go out to the family during their loss.

rip bernie mac

I was a little caught of gaurd this morning when I got the text that Bernie Mac had died. I was in the middle of breakfast and had to inform everyone at the table of this news. I brought up the fact that he died from the same disease that my aunt suffers from Sarcodosis, and the fact that African-Americans get more than any other race. We also shared our fave Bernie Mac moment. I love his character in the Player’s Club, Ocean’s 11, and Life.

R.I.P. Bernie Mac you will be missed.

Michelle O covers EBONY magazine.

Really EBONY?? I see you stepping up your cover game, kudos to your creative director and editors and snaps for LJR for bringing the swag back to EBONY. Anyway it looks as if my favorite first lady (positive thoughts only) is on the cover of the September issue of EBONY (I love me some Michelle she’s so graceful). This is sure to be a collectors issue for African American households right next to that dusty cover of Dr. King at your grandma’s house. Go get it!

wax on wax off: tyra banks

tyra in wax

So the Emmy winning former super-model who I think is a great role model for women of color is finally embolized in wax. Madame Toussard’s did a fabulous job on this statue, even the lacefront looks like Tyra’s own. She’s soooo fabulous.

guess who stepped in the room?

Ladies have you ever had a day when you feel like not looking fab, I strongly suggest fighting that erge because you never know who you will meet and you always want to be prepared. For example the other today I was in my office minding my biz when an associate came to my door and told me that there was a hottie in the office. So I am walking around the corner to see if my work homie heard but, she was no where to be found as I left her office there he stood. My heart stop and mouth dropped open and I couldn’t believe how fine he was in person (the movies do him no justice). I started to say something but, caught myself (I don’t do groupie moves) and walked back to my desk before he noticed me gawking. Just as I was just digging into my yogurt, and granola during a conference call. I hear a male voice asking to be introduced to me, yep it was him (he peeped me in my office) and all I could think of was thank God I look fab today, then I looked down; I was still wearing my silver Pumas with my dress. Yep, I looked like a bama but, at least my hair and make-up looked great. :-)
