I love, love, love classic custom clothing. April Marin rocks at providing quality custom dresses for women at at affordable prices(as low as $130) I can so see myself at a meeting with one of these fabulous looks. The bonus is that I know that the dress was made to fit perfectly. No more sagging in the middle or too tight fits around the bust and the bottom (I have a womanly shape :-)) and even better; they have an assortment of fabric and lining colors to choose from. I personally like the grey and pink combo or a classic navy with green; either way you choose your look you’ll definitely have plenty of fun putting it together.
I am really digging my heels in this butter literally. This summer I have had to keep my toe and heel game on lock, all I have been wearing are sandals and more sandals and this has helped me keep my feet looking sandal ready. Bnutured is a totally natural and handmade product and Michelle Lee-King the owner is definitely a fab lady which a great product and philosophy. Check out www.bnurtured.com and grab a few of these sweet smelling treats especially the Peach Sangria my personal fave.
I am officially a Michelle Obama stan, just in case you didn’t know it ;-). She is the embodiment of what I strive to be everyday. She is just a real person who wants to uplift others; I dig that. Plus that dress was soooooo cute (www.mariapinto.com) I think that’s on my wish list for what I want to wear to the CBC.
I can’t wait until she is in the White House. Good thing I still Have my place in the D.C. !!!
Just in case you missed it ( WHICH YOU SHOULDN’T HAVE!!), I posted the video below. Obama ‘08
I have neglected this site for far to long and I am tired of it. It started back in Nov. when I got a promotion and I had mad work to do to promote the Afro-American Newspapers coverage of Obama and Clintons’ race for the DNC nomination and we had the only journalist representing African-American Newspapers on the campaign bus with Obama during the primaries (Hillary’s camp didn’t reach out) so that took long hours, press releases, marketing, etc. for them and honestly I just could lift another finger to type when I came home. Next came the job opportunity to work with Black America’s most influential voice in radio to work on the redesign and re-launch of his website but, they had a problem with me having my own site. So because I wanted the job I took down my post and got the gig. The problem was that I missed blogging and chatting with readers about things that interest us. I realized what was important to me and have decided to re-energize my site. I will be posting the stories that have been taken down along with new ones and really would like feedback on what you want from a good website that speaks to our unique voices. Post your comments or send me a holla at liz[at]savvysocialite.com.

P.S. Thanks mom for putting it in perspective and giving me a friendly reminder of why I started this site. Thanks Dee Dee for reminding me to keep it up that random morning (3am) we chatted (I love Google chat) what you have done with Clutch continues to inspire me.
First, Jill and now Janet is getting into the lingerie game. Might as well, she’s already seen what happens when you don’t wear proper undergarments (i.e. Nipplegate). Janet Jackson’s Pleasure Principle Lingerie will offer fourteen designs, and range in bust sizes from 32A to 44G (thank goodness, I hope they fit well too) with affordable prices nothing over $40. I am still looking for a link to the website but, there seems to be none (come on people you can’t launch anything with out the web!!!) I will update the post as soon as I find the link.
Wow I guess you don’t really know when you get called home. I need to start getting it together, after this drink. He apparently died while on the treadmill. I hope people don’t use this excuse as to why they can’t excersise. I can hear my father now.
I was a little caught of gaurd this morning when I got the text that Bernie Mac had died. I was in the middle of breakfast and had to inform everyone at the table of this news. I brought up the fact that he died from the same disease that my aunt suffers from Sarcodosis, and the fact that African-Americans get more than any other race. We also shared our fave Bernie Mac moment. I love his character in the Player’s Club, Ocean’s 11, and Life.
Really EBONY?? I see you stepping up your cover game, kudos to your creative director and editors and snaps for LJR for bringing the swag back to EBONY. Anyway it looks as if my favorite first lady (positive thoughts only) is on the cover of the September issue of EBONY (I love me some Michelle she’s so graceful). This is sure to be a collectors issue for African American households right next to that dusty cover of Dr. King at your grandma’s house. Go get it!
